Bernard Rands' Trinity in World Premiere by Cornell University Glee Club

September 2, 2008: On Sunday, September 28 the Cornell University Glee Club performs the world premiere of Bernard Rands' Trinity for a cappella male voices. Commissioned by the Glee Club for their Abraham Lincoln memorial concert, Trinity features text taken from fragments of Walt Whitman's When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd

The music of Bernard Rands can be heard in all corners of the globe this month including Canti Lunatici, for soprano and orchestra, and Canti del Sole, for tenor and orchestra at the Sydney (Australia) Conservatory of Music; Memo 6 for solo alto saxophone in Toronto, and Tre Espressioni for solo piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, Holland. Looking ahead, Lorin Maazel and the New York Philharmonic perform the world premiere of Bernard Rands' "chains like the sea" on October 1 and 2 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.
